Latest Church Updates Amid COVID-19

UPDATE: Friday, Apr. 10

As we approach the weekend of Easter Sunday, remembering Christ’s sacrificial death and celebrating His glorious resurrection, here are some important announcements

Tonight – Friday, Apr. 10 @ 7:00 PM

Tonight we’ll be having a special Good Friday observance. Watch LIVE on our Facebook Group and DGC Live at 7:00 PM. (Find more ways to watch here.) Note: Because of this special broadcast, we will not have a devotional at 3:00 PM.

Tomorrow – Saturday, Apr. 11

We invite everyone to join in fasting and prayer by meditating on several Scripture passages throughout the day. This will be in response to tonight’s message, and will help us as we ask what steps we must take to further live for Jesus instead of ourselves.

Here are the Scriptures for each time of day:

  • Breakfast time: Romans 12:1
  • Mid-morning: Romans 12:2
  • Lunchtime: Romans 12:3
  • Afternoon: Romans 12:4-5
  • Dinnertime: Romans 12:6-8
  • Evening: Romans 12:9

You may also consider having a special breakfast on Easter Sunday and reading 2 Corinthians 5:16-21.

Easter Sunday – Apr. 12

Join us as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior! We will have Easter songs (including “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today” and “Crown Him King of Kings”) available to listen to at DGC Live in the morning. Then Pastor Matt will share an Easter message at 11:00 AM. You can watch that LIVE on our Facebook Group or DGC Live.

We will also be collecting our Easter Offering. Contributions will go toward bunkbeds for the Appalachian Advent Christian Campground (Blowing Rock, N.C.) and our Deacon’s Fund.

UPDATE: Monday, Apr. 6

The Board has not yet had a chance to meet since Governor Cooper (N.C.) issued the statewide stay-at-home order. As of now, all church gatherings are suspended at least until April 16. We will let you know right here if and when those plans change.

Here are some reminders as we approach Easter:

  • Daily Devotionals – watch LIVE Monday-Thursday at 3:00 PM. For all the ways you can watch, see Page 2 below.
  • Good Friday – special observance will be streamed on Friday, April 10 at 7:00 PM.
  • Easter Sunday – message will be streamed on Sunday, April 12 at 11:00 AM.
  • Easter Offering – we will still be collecting a special Easter offering on Easter Sunday, April 12. Proceeds will go toward purchasing needed bunkbeds for the Appalachian Advent Christian Campground (Blowing Rock, N.C.) and the Deacon’s Fund. Give online here or mail your contribution to 11200 Arlington Church Rd., Charlotte, NC 28227.

We have also launched a NEW Facebook Page to help us stay connected. We will still be using our Facebook Group, but this page will be used more for church announcements, updates and other info. Follow us @DGCNews!
