Church Parents | Titus 2:1-10

family-469580_640As a church family, we can embrace our greater parental responsibility by maturing, modeling and mentoring Christian character for the generations behind us.

Discussion Starters

  1. Read the passage together.
  2. Paul urges Titus to “teach what accords with sound doctrine” in verse one. What is “sound doctrine”? (Titus 1:9 also mentions sound doctrine.)
  3. Work through verses 2-6 and list the character traits mentioned. Which ones were mentioned for men? For women? Do you think there is any overlap? How does the word “likewise” factor into our understanding of this passage?
  4. If you had to pick one of these character traits to improve upon this year, which would you pick and why?
  5. What hinders us from growing more freely in these traits?
  6. Who do you know who exhibits these traits? How do you suppose they grew so mature?
  7. How have older generations taught and trained you?
  8. How could we better facilitate inter-generational ministry among Dulin’s Grove?
  9. Pray together.
