Romans 12:2 says And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind

What we pour in through our eyes and ears shapes us, making us look more like the world or more like Jesus. In other words, you are what you watch and listen to.

Philippians 4:8 gives a list to help us think through our choices here: Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Jesus gives us new hearts that can be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Pour in truth to become true. Watch what's honorable to become honorable. Listen to what's just to become just. On the other hand, watch what's impure and become impure. Listen to what's ugly and become ugly. Commendable in, commendable out. Shameful in, shameful out. You get the idea.

Making better choices here won't save you any more than grabbing a celery stick while you're having a heart attack. BUT, once your heart has been healed by Jesus; it's important to be careful what we put in it.
